Subject: BLUE: Battlegrounds raid sized only? 5v5?
As I have a level 60 on another (PvE) server, I've experienced the raid vs. raid zerg of SS for PvPing. It's fun for a while, but eventually, it gets kind of boring. As a non-ranged class, the only think you can do is look for a straggler, or small group to engage. Otherwise, you get tore up before you can even approach the enemy.

Looking for something different to do, as I'm not interested in running the same instances over and over for uber gear, I started an alt on a PvP server.

The added challenge and surprises of impromptu in-the-field battles has been a great freshening experience. The other day, though, I had my first taste of small group PvP and I loved it. A group of 5 alliance had come to the Horde outpost in the Badlands, and startd attacking random people. Someone quickly organized a group of 5 people, and we engaged the alliance. A few hours passed, and I immensely enjoyed the battle. It was more tactical than a 40v40 SS/TM raid. It was more interesting than a 1v1 in the wilds attack. In short, I want more of it!

Which brings me to my point. Are all battlegrounds going to be a raid, 40v40 encounter? I know it's not likely to be like SS/TM. There's going to be seperate goals and objectives to accomplish, and it's likely to split up into several smaller groups for these goals.

But, I think you guys should look at the possibility of smaller 5v5 Battlegrounds as well. The amount of organization it takes to successfully do anything with 40 people is something not everyone has time for. I know pickup Battlegrounds will be possible, but pickup groups don't always work out so well, and to get the full benefit of the experience, organization and cooperation will be key.

I'd compare this to current PvE instances. You have your regular 5v5 instances. Even casual players can do these, and most players by level 40 have at least 5 people they trust and work well with, and are guilded. Even the smaller guilds can field organize 5 people to be on at the same time for some instance running.

On the other hand, there's the raid instances. These are a lot harder. If you're a casual player, you almost always have to find a pickup raid. Even if you know 39 people in game that you work well with, and trust, they all have to be on at the same time.

Anyway, I'm just throwing the idea out there. Please consider creating a smaller, more intimate Battleground instance, if its not already in the works. The sense of scale that this type of encounter would lose would be outweighed by the joys of working with more coordination with a more intimate group.

While Alterac Valley is meant for 40 vs. 40, the second Battleground we're releasing is meant for smaller, faster play... it might appeal to you. ;)
