| |
As many players will already know, the upcoming patch includes a number of changes and improvements to the user interface. These changes will mean that certain AddOns, which attempt actions such as initiating movement, will no longer function as intended. If a player's AddOn's attempted action has been blocked, a message will appear informing the player of this and give them the option to disable the "affected AddOn".
The releases of new patches are a particularly busy time for our customer support. To help us offer the best service possible to our players, before contacting a Game Master, please ensure that the problem you are experiencing is not resulting from an AddOn. If you are experiencing a problem which you believe may be related to your interface, please exit your game client and delete or backup (recommended) the "Holy Trinity": These three folders: WTF, WDB and Interface. The standard interface will then be automatically restored when you next load the game client.
Due to the huge number of existing AddOns we will never be able to test them all, but here is a list of some AddOns we know, which will most likely no longer function properly:
AutoBuff
CT_Raid Assist
Mana Conserve
Decursive
DruidBar
If you want to see if an author has updated an AddOn you may check our Interface Customisation Forum (http://forums-en.wow-europe.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-interface-en) for help from other players (And some authors post their updates there) and sites like http://ui.worldofwar.net

Q u o t e: Uhm.. Why was Mana Conserve nerfed?
This is a very handy addition in raids; it's a way of saving mana for overheals so you can spend it on needed heals.
If you consider this cheating you're very much overreacting.
Explanation?
I don't know all the reasoning, but I'm guessing certain functions were generally disabled in the UI, but not with specific AddOns in mind. If a certain AddOn, for some reason, used one of these functions it would therefore would automatically render said AddOn inoperable.
If some AddOns don't work any more, but should technically still be able to work with the available UI functions, I'm sure some authors will find a way to 'fix' their AddOns.

Q u o t e: Cant you just disable them all and give the game back to the people that actually WANT to play instead of watch a "movie" ?
I hope in the near future more addons will be disabled as it makes me feel im fighting a robot sometimes instead of another human being.
Then again, I love being able to queue the items I want to make and not have to sit there for 10 minutes, waiting for my bandages to finish... Some AddOns definitely have their uses.
