What - Why - When
To continue the great improvements in performance on most realms, two data centres are receiving(http://forums-en.wow-europe.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-general-en&t=804164) a software update.
The following realms will be down for an extended time for the February 1st maintenance: Neptulon, Twisting Nether, Ragnaros, The Maelstrom, Sylvanas, Vashj, Bloodfeather, Darksorrow, Frostwhisper, Kor'gall, Defias Brotherhood, The Venture Co., Lightning's Blade and Haomarush.
The following realms will be down for an extended time for the February 8th maintenance: Runetotem, Shadowsong, Silvermoon, Stormrage, Terenas, Thunderhorn, Turalyon, Ravencrest, Shadow Moon, Shattered Hand, Skullcrusher, Spinebreaker, Stormreaver, Stormscale, Earthen Ring, Genjuros, Balnazzar, Nordrassil, Hellscream, Laughing Skull, Magtheridon and Quel'Thalas.
Thundy has posted(http://forums-en.wow-europe.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-general-en&t=806914) some information about the character creation blocks. Due to performance improvements, they are already on their way to be reopened.
Last week the following realms were opened again: Earthen Ring, Ravencrest, Runetotem, Shadow Moon, Shadowsong, Shattered Hand, Silvermoon, Skullcrusher, Spinebreaker, Stormrage, Stormreaver, Stormscale, Terenas, Thunderhorn and Turalyon.
We will get an update this week on the progress of these closed realms: Agamaggan, Aggramar, Al'Akir, Arathor, Argent Dawn, Aszune, Azjol-Nerub, Bladefist, Bloodhoof, Bloodscalp, Burning Blade, Burning Legion, Crushridge, Daggerspine, Deathwing, Doomhammer, Draenor, Dragonblight, Dragonmaw, Dunemaul, Emerald Dream, Sunstrider, Twilight's Hammer, Warsong and Zenedar.
Migration Update
There is no migration currently planned. If there was, this post(http://forums-en.wow-europe.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-general-en&t=807302) would help. The staff are currently reviewing realm numbers to decide if and when migration will occur in February.

And yes, combined with my illness(Damned flu) and lack of news this week, this really doesn't help my words per episode count. Although by writing this I'm bumping it back up, so it won't stop for a while. Let's see, the weather forecast for the Hinterlands tomorrow is about 20 Azerothian Degrees during the morning, where there will be a cloudy sky and some mist, improving to a warm 26AD in the afternoon, with some small occurrences of troll raids around the low pressure system coming in from the west. Still here? You win a cookie flavored pie.
Ahn'Qiraj War Effort Progress

This is the first time that we've really put all of the power in the hands of players. So you see some really interesting things going on. In some places, you see multiple über-guilds that have treated each other with respect, or who have called a truce, and are engaged in some massive collective farming. Database - Guild
With Blizzard EU being uberly secret with the database feature, we can only theorise what it could involve. Luckily, Thundy(http://forums-en.wow-europe.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-general-en&t=803331) throws us a bone. Guilds. The database section will contain a list of all guilds and important information about them.
If you want your guild in on the action, and let's face it who doesn't, submit it via the community webform(https://wow-europe.com/community/webform/index.html) containing the following information:

Approximate No. of Members (Accounts, not characters)
