I know that normally the reason that EU patches after US, is to fix the last few bugs, or possible errors that might fly up. And thats great, we ALL don't mind the NORMAL patches 1 day after the U.S. - But since you hyped the opening of the AQ gates so much, with "be the first to open the gates" - How come you didn't patch the same day? I mean, of course there would be a few hours difference in patching, but nothing vital, nothing as big as 1 day.
You even turned it all into a race (with the gathering page and all). Why can't we all start on the same terms then?
I think it's dreadfull and stupid you didn't patch both US and EU at the same time, you should at least do this the next time you're thinking about creating an farming event like this. Not that I hope you ever do another farming event like this, do something creative instead! Thats what we all know Blizzard for, creativity. =]
In short, patch 1 day later for normal patches, patch the same day for RACE-EVENT patches, or new 40 man raid instances for that matter, so all guilds across the world have equal terms for beating the content first.

It's technically, and physically, not possible to patch or complete maintenance on thousands of servers in all regions at the same time. Each region has to be completed on a different day of the week.
