The post timer is probably too long because you are not posting anything that has required effort or thought, which is the exact reason why it is in place.

Q u o t e:
I shouldn't have to register into a completley different place to have fun. I mean, this forum was meant to discuss a game.. which was made for fun, right?

People like Drysc just suck the fun out of everything.

You should have fun discussing the game here, there is no reason for you not to. However, if that fun is by making as many posts as possible, or posting something that does not add anything to a thread, then that is called spam.

The timer is simply to cut down on the amount of posts being made, ie spam. The one minute mark is not a final number though and may be changed, but it's more likely for it to raise than lower.

Q u o t e:

I repeat, there are posts paragraphs long that don't add anything to the conversation.

Length =/= Quality.

Length of the post really isn't the issue, it's the time put into actually contributing to a positive forum community. I don't think any post made in less than a minute does that, and if it does, it could do it better by the extra time being taken to elaborate on the thoughts being presented.

In the end, the change is to cut down on spam. In a perfect world, it would make people think a little before posting. I don't expect the change to affect either substantially, but you can call me a dreamer.

Q u o t e:
I often have elaborated as much as I want to before the minute is up.

But what about the wonderful posting errors that we get that makes us lose our entire post and/or wait another minute?

There are going to be cases where the timer is just impeding your completely well thought out and legitimate posts, however the good that it will do for us far surpasses the slight impedence to legitimate posts.

I know change is hard to cope with, but the timer is here and we're planning to launch with it intact.

The errors are being looked into. I don't like losing posts either, but until it's fixed I would recommend doing a quick Ctrl+A Ctrl+C just incase.

Q u o t e:
Could you possibly comment on the loss of us being able to post in multiple forums? If i can no longer use both this one and my home ET forums I will only use general. Your going to lose a lot of comunity interaction and create even more spam in your general forums.

Loss? I think that's being a bit dramatic, it's a one minute delay. You can post once in General, wait, post once in your realm forum, wait, post in General, etc. etc. Hopefully during those pauses you can take some time to reflect on what the person has said, and possibly on making your response better or more appropriate.

Is there a compulsion where you need to post in a specific forum once every minute? That's the only reason I can see where other forums would actually become abandoned due to the timer.

Length does not equal intelligence. A well placed STFY, TLDR, or ASCII head man work very well.

Any credibility you were building up was just completely lost, sorry.
