Subject: Honor Calculations

Many players are reporting that their honor is not appearing correctly on the PvP website. We wanted to take the time to inform everyone that while the honor may not be displaying correctly on the website, the honor calculations are correct and are being tabulated correctly in the meantime.

We expect to have this issue corrected with the next maintenance. We apologize for this inconvenience.

*Edited for clarification- In game honor issues are still being investigated.

At current, the belief is that these are just display errors on the webpages. When we have any further updates, we will let people know.

We just wanted to make people aware that this is a known issue.

(Honor issues in game are still being looked at.)

Just another brief update that they have found the issue with the honor updates and are working on a fix now. (In regard to in game honor that some people are reporting issues with.)

Please be aware that there has been no data loss in the meantime.

They plan to have this fix applied as soon as possible but at the latest should be corrected by maintenance on this coming tuesday.

Q u o t e:
If you don't know, you don't know, but in plain english.. I think the question *I* at least have (and maybe others do too) is will there be a full or partial correction of the problems?

I'm reading words like "There is no data loss" but what does that mean? Because people who didnt PvP on monday, ended up being credited with 25k of honor pts, and people who did pvp on Monday maybe got shorted 15k of honor pts.

I am guildmates with the top 3 standing PvPers on my server, and we coordinate to our benefit which position we would finish in. And last week I should have finished 1st, with them finishing behind me 2nd and 3rd. Instead the scheduled -2nd place finisher who DIDNT PLAY ON MONDAY somehow got credited with 25K of honor, and beat me by 1K, and went way over #3, who was on pace to get HWL this week, with more honor, and now needs to wait 2 more weeks unless this is fixed and he obtains enough honor to make it in 1 week. Meanwhile I did make HWL by the skin of my teeth, and that is why I am posting to you from the air-conditioned comfort of my work space, and not on a trek to Irvine, CA with explosives strapped to my chest.

So is it a situation where it's.. "Sorry, we messed up..won't happen next week." or is it "Sorry, we messed up.. everything will be exactly as it should be next week."

Actually, it wasn't that long ago that I got more detailed information on things so I'll do my best to explain what I can. (I'm actually posting from home now but felt this merited a bit more information being injected in.)

Basically, some people have their ranking and honor correct in game but do not have it reflected (displaying correctly) on the PvP website. The initial post was for them to let them know the website will show correctly again once we do the weekly maintenance on Tuesday.

Some people also had a seperate issue where it wasn't showing on the website and they weren't showing it in game. I asked for more information based on this and learned that they found the issue that had caused this problem to occur and were in the process of a fix. This fix may not show until the maintenance however on Tuesday as well.

In the short end of the explanation it came down to an error on our end (in regard to in game honor/ranking) that didn't complete the process of calculating honor and rankings for this past week. Because of this, some people will notice that their honor calculation and subsequent ranking will be boosted up a bit as they recoup the honor they weren't properly credited for last week. This is the reason for saying that no data has been lost. The 'missing' honor is not lost and still exists in the system.

The database team does not feel that this problem should occur again and will be keeping a close eye on things. We apologize for these errors and certainly do not want to see a repeat in the future of them.

Once I have more information and clarification for you all, I'll post it here. Being that it's the weekend, I don't expect to find out more until hopefully monday.

I realize people's concerns and will make sure I relay those on.

Just also as an FYI, the database team is still very willing to look at other solutions to the problem but in this case the choices are rather limited.
