So we are getting new forums, but the code quality sucks as much as the previous one.
Okay, it's a new fancy layout, but what we want is not a beautiful forum, we want a stable forum, without lot of bugs etc.
What you webdevelopers give us now is just old crap html, possible crap JSP in the background if your skills isen't higher than your html/css skills, a forum highly dependant on javascript, and a forum not optimized and tested in the 3 most common browsers on the market.
So why are we paying you for this ? Why does Blizzard want to give the community a forum, but not care to make it as good as their game ?
I don't belive in writing a bug report, because I don't think you'll ever listen and fix it. Currently i've only seen ignorence from the Webdevs and community managers when it comes to the online stuff.
And while you focus on making a "fancy" forum, you forget to bugfix the game related stuff, such as payment.. who many players don't I get on our irc support channel, asking what to do when your website is down once again, and they can't go raid with their guild.
In the end it's just not good enough Blizzard, get your knowlegde strait, and FIX the errors when it's reported, and i'll happily use my 8 years of knowlegde in all aspects of webdeveloping to write you a explicit bug report.
But atm. I just not sure it's worth the effort, but prove me wrong if you can.

I'm no web programmer but I can assure you these forums are operating much better than the old ones. If not on stability (which we're testing right now) then at least on functionality and flexibility.
As for bashing our web developers and not bothering to write bug reports, I can only encourage you to try a more constructive approach. Hopefully those eight years in web developing has also provided you with the knowledge of how best to communicate suggestions and bug reports. ;)

I can assure you we're very much listening and very interested in having these forums become as good as they can, both before they go live (mainly bug fixing) and over time after that (optimization and new features).
The reason we haven't been very active here earlier is other projects having priority, e.g. the open migration and now the paid character transfers, which took a lot of time for both web development and the community team. Now the forums is one of the main focus areas, first with a bit of stress testing and this new version today with some bug fixes and features, then with continual bug fixing and optimization to get ready for making these the main forums as soon as possible.

All kinds. :) I believe functionality comes first as it often requires most time to fix properly, then usability and cosmetics / user friendliness which can be considered polishing (though we want to polish as much as time permits).
