| | Since we're spamming the beta forums anyway, I figured I could write a little bit about the English community team and what we do. :)
Vaneras the Dwarf and Crezax the Gnoll are our two Online Community Representatives (OCRs). They're mostly busy on the forums; moderating, gathering and reporting player feedback, and making both informational and social posts. They're also involved in Tuesday's Forum Watch, Thursday's Community Events update and Friday's Community News, as well as other projects as they come along. The class feedback threads we've been running is their area, and we hope to run similar feedback threads in the future in addition to just checking what you write without us requesting word on a specific topic.
Vaneras is currently on vacation, but Crezax should be happily spaming away here tomorrow morning.
Aeus the Goblin is our Community Representative (CR). He is also active on the forums, but mainly covers contact with the fan sites, the three weekly community updates on the website, most team projects and coordination of the OCRs. He's also handling numbers gathering and analysis, and most coordination with the French and German community teams.
I'm not sure his account works on the beta forums this evening, but we'll have that fixed soon enough. Goblin Engineering FTW.
Yours truly, the Forsaken, is the Community Manager (CM). While I like to spend time on the forums, I'm mainly occupied with team management, coordination and follow-up with other teams (including the French and German community guys) and departments, and all that other stuff we community people would like to have someone else take care of but is really needed for any team and we can't really go into details about because it's internal and confidential and all that. (Really, I'm grinding faction.)
We're also all involved in live events e.g. big LAN parties and trade conventions, trying to stay updated on everything World of Warcraft (especially everything you players do and create), dig up information and give recommendations based on player input. Surely I'm forgetting some things too, but this is getting long enough already.
Questions? Fire away!

Q u o t e: Thundgot you need an avatar!
Yeah. I was hoping my avatar would be active this evening so I switched my settings to use my personal one instead of the Blizzard logo. Seems I either got the image name wrong or it's not uploaded yet. :p
Q u o t e: Maybe he'll get a undead avatar with tier 3!
Good idea...
Q u o t e: hehe you forgot TechSupport, Xiliris and Daliniya, there important too!:)
Important? Yes. Members of the community team? No. ;)
Q u o t e: hDo the english CMs work in the same place as lets say...the german CMs?
In the very same room.
Q u o t e: Ok my question!
The americans have had their Blizzcon. Will we in europe have that to? I would really want that as it is a bit expensive to take a short vacation to america just to visit Blizzcon :P
Hum... please try to keep the questions on the topic of the community team. ;)
Q u o t e: Are you going to be employing a tougher stance on whiners in the future?
Depends what you define as whining. Poorly founded complaints are not necessarily always a negative contribution to the forums. Unconstructive, aggressive or even outright hostile posts are not needed nor wanted though. I doubt we'll change our forum policies with these new forums, but with better moderation functionality we might have more time to educate people how to post to get better results.
Q u o t e: What is the mod interface like on these forums? Does it have a CP or is it simply an extra 'delete' or 'ban' button here and there?
I don't wish to divulge any information on that apart from that it's better on these new forums than on the old ones. ;)
Q u o t e: Who is first to get to the office and last to leave?
I don't know. They're all there both when I arrive and when I leave, and all 15 minutes in between.
Q u o t e: If Van and Crez are Online CRs, and Aeus is just a CR, how does he post?
He cheats.
Q u o t e: Who would win in a fight out of the team?
Vaneras. He has an arsenal of nerf weaponry and excellent aim. If we'd group up with Gnorog from the German team, Vaneras' nemesis, and sacrifice Aeus we might stand a chance.
Q u o t e: they were at Dreamhack or whatever its called in Sweden or wherever it was, think it was europe atleast :p
We were at Dreamhack Winter 2005 (Sweden), The Gathering 2006 (Norway) and Gamer Assembly 2006 (France), plus some other events like the ESWC finals in Paris. We were also at Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany last year, and will be there again this year. We'll surely be at some other events too. :)

Q u o t e: Question: What nationality are each of the CMs? (I'm aware of all apart from Crezax, but this question might be interesting for others who know none)
I'm Swedish :)

Q u o t e: A big question!
Thundy, describe a normal working day as a blizzard community representative.
(including your breaks and toiletusage)
=] Curious to the answer of this one... :P
I can describe my day:
I get to work and wonder why there is noone else there. I get a coke and a sandwich to wake up a bit, then I start the computer. I read my emails to see what has happened since yesterday, if there is any news I should be aware of.
After that I log on to the forums and start going through the reports. Usually there's been quite a few that hasn't followed the forum guidelines during the previous evening that needs to be moderated.
After I'm done with that, I start reading through the forums, thread by thread to see what people are talking about. I usually start with the class forums since they interest me the most, then I move on to the others and work my way through them.
I gather the feedback from players and write it down in my report to let everyone know what is going on in the community at the moment.
By now I'm really starting to ask myself why there is noone else here.

Q u o t e: I have a question, and I dont really wanna be a bit "heavy" in a thread like this, but when is the PvP forum on the live forums, EVER going to get any kind of reply to alot of the threads that deserve some?
Cause frankly it just seems like no-one genuinely cares about that forum.
I read them, it's just that most of the threads on that forum is hard to reply something constructive to. For me at least. I do gather the feedback though (and it's alot of good ideas and suggestions being posted there).

If we start asking about other things, this thread will soon be flooded with people asking million things. I won't be able to answer them all, and people will get angry at me.
Please don't make people angry at me :(

Q u o t e:
It was directed at Thundgot since he was posting last night, but you can answer it too Crezax <3 ;)
We report player's feedback. What they are saying in their threads. We try to not make it one-sided, to give them a good idea of what the community is thinking.
I can not really be more specific I'm afraid. Hope that's enough :)

Q u o t e: Tampler loves this thread very much.
How many of you CMs play WoW? and what feature are you most looking forward to in TBC?
We all play WoW, quite a lot actually.
What feature I'm looking most forward to, hmm.. right now I think it would be cool to have a level 70 character and see how easy the current instances would be like. Doing C'thun with 20 people etc.

Tbh I still dont think he can be done with 20 people, even if they are level 70. I would say 30 at the least:)
Maybe :) Phase 1 would just become easier tbh, but yeah might be hard to keep up in phase 2 with only 20.
